As a body that governs international competitive ballroom dance, ballet, tap, and all dance styles we at WDSC are committed to promoting Dance as a Sport, across the globe. We believe that ballroom dancing is not just a sport, but an art and a way of life. Welcome to the World DanceSport Council, the governing body for competitive ballroom dancing around the world. Our memberships are available to individual dancers, ranging from junior to professional level. We do not offer memberships for any national council. Each dancer must have their own WDSC membership. At the WDSC World Championships, each member now can register as a couple in order to dance together and compete at the highest level of dance sport.

At World DanceSport Council (WDSC), we have a rich history of supporting our members in every way possible. Our President carefully selects a new body of dancers each year to act in an advisory, administrative, or legislative capacity to drive innovation and excellence in the field. We promote, organize and sponsor dance championships throughout the United States, Mexico, Canada, North, Central and South America and around the world, providing opportunities for dancers members to showcase their talents and build their professional networks.The WDSC members can participate in ANY and ALL dance championships, they are not restricted by the WDSC.
